Speech and Language Therapy

Speech therapy is the discipline that deals with the prevention, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of communication, language, speech, voice, hearing, literacy and non-verbal oral functions such as swallowing or chewing.

At Clínica Verna we offer personalized care, from birth, with our team of speech therapists specialized in early care and dysphagia.

At Clinica Verna we specialise in Myofunctional Therapy. This is the discipline of speech therapy that prevents, assesses, diagnoses and re-educates orofacial dysfunctions that can interfere both in the production of speech and in the structure of the teeth and jaw relationships.
We explore and assess the alterations that may appear in the orofacial musculature as well as in the basic functions: breathing, chewing and swallowing.
We carry out a myofunctional diagnosis that defines the structural and functional alterations from a qualitative point of view.
We design individualised intervention programmes containing exercises, reduction and elimination of habits and awareness of the newly acquired patterns.
