The preconception visit

WhatsAppXCopy Link
Every day in the consulting room we see an increase in problems in achieving pregnancy, as well as more gestational losses during the first trimester of pregnancy.
For this reason, as professionals, we recommend that couples make a preconception visit to the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Service to assess their overall reproductive health: to detect possible risk factors and dysfunctions to correct, to balance hormonal health, to study genetic counselling.

What is the objective of the preconception visit?

To increase the chances of having a healthy pregnancy.

When is it advisable?

Between 4-6 months before the start of the search for pregnancy.

What will we study?

– The personal history of both partners that may cause sub/infertility.

– Changes in active medications.

– Study of the menstrual cycle and gynaecological pathology.

– Analytical and ultrasound evaluation and request for other tests if necessary.

– Study of daily habits: diet, exercise, basal level of stress, etc.

– Toxic habits to correct.

  • Supplementation and individualised guidelines for both members of the couple.

What is the Preconception Visit?

It is the opportunity to ensure optimal health before starting to look for pregnancy.

With the Preconception Visit, we will analyse your health and give you the advice you need to achieve a healthy and enjoyable pregnancy. Preparing your body for your future baby is crucial. With our professionals you will receive guidance on nutrition, supplements and healthy habits.
